⚾ イニングって何？延長戦ってどうなるの？
「3回表、ランナー1塁…」なんて実況、よく聞くけど、
「表」「裏」ってなに？延長戦ってどうやって決まるの？
──英語で野球を理解するには、この「進行のしくみ」がとっても大事！
今回は、イニングと延長戦の英語表現とルールを押さえていこう！
🧩 A baseball game is made up of nine innings.
（野球の試合は9回（イニング）で構成されています。）
1回（one inning）は、「表（top）」と「裏（bottom）」の2つに分かれています。
“Top of the fifth” は「5回表」ってこと。
🧩 Each team bats once per inning: the visiting team bats in the top, the home team in the bottom.
（ビジターチームが表、ホームチームが裏に攻撃します。）
英語実況ではこう聞こえます：
- “We’re in the bottom of the sixth.”（6回裏に入りました）
- “The top of the ninth is coming up.”（9回表が始まります）
🧩 If the score is tied after nine innings, the game goes into extra innings.
（9回終了時に同点なら、試合は延長戦に入ります。）
延長戦＝extra innings
10回以降、決着がつくまで1イニングずつ追加されていきます（プロ野球では最大12回、MLBでは無制限）。

（延長戦では、1イニング終了時に得点が多いチームが勝ちになります。）
日本語では「サヨナラ勝ち」も、英語ではこう👇
